Akiko Thomson-Guevara OLY

Akiko’s lifelong journey has been an unwavering immersion in the world of sports. She excelled as an elite athlete and dedicated herself to various roles as a passionate volunteer, dynamic leader, and a committed officer. Her fervor extends to championing athletes and advocating for values of sports, including the empowerment of women in sports, the promotion of inclusivity, and the ideals of Olympism.

THE FOUNDERS

Coach Noli Ayo

A hopeful visionary and an inspiring storyteller, Coach Noli is a believer that sports, if placed in hands of the right people, has the power to change the world. He is a published writer through the books Winning Still and The Mindandao Peace Games. A leading figure in Philippine sports, Coach Noli Ayo is the founder and convener of the Mindanao Peace Games, Assistant to the President for Sports and Development of the Lyceum of the Philippines University in its Davao, Batangas, and Laguna Campuses, and the Mindanao Coordinator of the PSC.

KEYNOTE SPEAKERS

Sophia Papamichalopoulos OLY (Cyprus)

An IOC Young Leader, a medical doctor and an Olympian who actively participates in the Olympic Movement. She’s deeply involved in the “Winds of Change” project, uniting Greek and Turkish Cypriot youth through a documentary, aiming to promote peacebuilding in Cyprus and dreaming of a unified Cypriot Olympic team.

Nancy Christiaens (Belgium)

Nancy has a Bachelor of Business Administration with a specialization in Sports Management. She graduated with a Master’s in Sport Administration in 2021 from the Russian International Olympic University. She was a FISU Ambassador and is currently a Sport Development Coordinator at Adrenaline Solutions. She has travelled the world by being involved in many sports events and programs.

SPOTLIGHT SPEAKERS

Pearl Managuelod

She is the transformative Secretary-General of the Muay-Thai Association of the Philippines and currently a Board Member of the Philippine Olympic Committee. She stands as a beacon among women in sports, exemplifying strong leadership, strategic prowess, and a deep commitment to driving positive change through youth sports policies and social initiatives.

Jude Turcuato

An accomplished Executive Director at MVP Sports Foundation, Jude was a sportscaster and a seasoned media executive having worked more than 20 years for FOX, Disney, Solar, and ABS-CBN. He spearheaded projects that have not only launched brands and supported athletes but also left a lasting impact in the sports community. His unwavering belief in nation-building through sports underscores his commitment to fostering positive change and youth development. He is also currently the First Vice President and Head of Sports at PLDT.

Gretchen Ho

Gretchen Ho is the Ambassador of MVP Sports Foundation. She is a news anchor, a well-known media personality, and a former volleyball athlete. Her deep commitment to grassroots development and her unwavering advocacy for women, through an online platform called “Woman in Action”, has solidified her position as an influential figure in Philippine sports.
